# Stonehenge research-paper search (Tim Daw's notes) > Experimental search over the public part of Tim Daw's Stonehenge research notes. It returns short quotes (max 300 characters) from research papers and topic notes, each with its citation and DOI/URL. Built for research bots and AI crawlers. Source and author: Tim Daw, https://www.sarsen.org ## What it is - 65 public pages (40 papers, 25 topics) on Stonehenge: bluestones and their Preseli sources, the Altar Stone's Scottish provenance, sarsens (West Woods), Waun Mawn, the Aubrey Holes, Q and R Holes, the Avenue, Bluestonehenge, the cremated remains, parchmarks, stone raising, transport and purpose debates. - Private, unpublished and embargoed notes are not included. ## API GET https://stonehenge-second-brain.tim-daw.workers.dev/api/search?q=QUERY[&oa=1][&from=YEAR][&to=YEAR] - q: search words (2–200 chars). oa=1: open-access papers only. from/to: publication-year range (filters papers; topic pages are dropped when a filter is set). - Returns JSON: {about, query, filters, nomatch, suggest, groups:[{title, type:"paper"|"topic", paper:{c:citation, u:DOI or URL, y:year, oa:bool}|null, quotes:[{quote, html, section, refs:[{c,u,y,oa}]}]}]} - Papers come first (best 1–3 quotes each), then topic pages. If nothing matches well, nomatch=true and suggest lists the closest topics. - Rate limit: about 30 requests per minute per IP (HTTP 429 when exceeded). There is no bulk/corpus endpoint and no AI answer endpoint for bots. Example: https://stonehenge-second-brain.tim-daw.workers.dev/api/search?q=Altar%20Stone%20Scotland&oa=1 ## Crawlable pages - https://stonehenge-second-brain.tim-daw.workers.dev/topics: index of all topic and paper pages - https://stonehenge-second-brain.tim-daw.workers.dev/topic/SLUG: a short summary and the reference list for each page - https://stonehenge-second-brain.tim-daw.workers.dev/sitemap.xml ## Citation and licence terms - Quotes are short extracts from published work for research and commentary. Always cite the ORIGINAL paper (use the DOI/URL given), not this site. - Do not reproduce long passages; check the original before relying on a quote. - The notes, summaries and selection are Tim Daw's (https://www.sarsen.org).
